Each nation possesses its unique culture;each culture deserves equal respects.Since the cultural exchange,embodied by its forms of cultural shock and cultural integration,is strengthened all over the world,people begin to pay attention to the diversity of culture and promote their own cultures to the outside world.The book of Folk Culture of Shangsi Stories,recorded the folk culture in Shangsi,is designed to protect and develop the local culture,especially the one of the Zhuang nationality.This report is a summary of the translation of Folk Culture of Shangsi Stories(Chapter 8 to Chapter 11).As a typical type of the publicity materials,the source text consists of four chapters:folk arts and handicrafts,folk medicine,children's games and food,and folklore in Shangsi.During the process of translation,the author is mainly guided by the translation strategy of foreignization.The report is divided into five parts:the first part is the project description,which contains a task introduction,the analysis of target readers and the analysis of the source text;the second part is the pre-translation preparation,including the selection of parallel texts,translation tools,theoretical guidance and translation strategies,and the schedule;the third part is the translation process,composed of the glossary building,sentence processing and textual structure processing;the fourth part is the analysis of cases through the different aspects,such as words,sentences,texts and language styles;and the last part is the conclusion.The author aims to summarize the difficulties of the folk culture translation and research on the specific methods to solve the difficulties.It is hoped that the report could offer references of folk culture translation in the future.
