A Report On Consecutive Interpreting For China-european Remanufacturing Industry Forum

As the challenges of resource,environment and climate change brought by rapid social development become more prominent,the remanufacturing industry aiming at resource conservation grows faster around the world.On October 28,2016,the first phase of Wuzhou Remanufacturing Demonstration Base opened,and in such a significant moment,Wuzhou Renewable Resource Recycling Park held the China-European Remanufacturing Industry Forum for experts from China and European countries to exchange the experience of developing the remanufacturing industry.The author was very privileged to be the interpreter of this forum,providing consecutive interpreting.Learning a lot from this practice,the author transcribed the recording of this interpreting practice for research and analysis.In this report,the author introduced the background and objectives of the task,described the process of preparation and the performance of the author and analyzed the problems and emergencies existing in the process of the task.The task preparation and the case analysis are the core of this report,in which the author introduced how the interpreter prepared,including searching and collecting background information and glossary,as well as getting familiar with the accent of speakers.Meanwhile,the author also focused on the importance of the preparation.The case analysis is based on the recording of this practice.With several interpreting theories and principles applied,the author analyzed the performance of the interpreter and found out the deficiencies of the interpreting.At last,the author made a summary about this practice,and sought some solutions with the hope that this report would can help the author make progress in further study and provide reference for the practices in more similar activities organized with the development of the remanufacturing industry.
