| As a new work among Erhu musical pieces,the unaccompanied divertimento,the Tathagata Dream composed by the famous composer Liu Wenjin serves as the Erhu musical work with religious philosophies as materials.It consists of eight independent musical pieces,and Lauren Robe,a summary of religious philosophies of other seven pieces,is the last one piece of it.Taking the last piece of the work,the Tathagata Dream-Lauren Robe as example,the author aims exploring religious thoughts and culture embodied in the work,and on this basis,further studying how to exploit such culture to guide the performance of the work in real terms,thus the performer is able to express the religious thoughts contained in the work and conveying the content of the work to the audience.This report is made up of four chapters.The first chapter is mainly about the introduction to the composer as well as the background and value of the Tathagata Dream.The second one centers on features of the structure,mode and tonality,and musical materials of the Tathagata Dream-Lauren Robe.The third one,combined with the philosophies of Buddhist work,the Tathagata Dream,narrates the Buddhist sentiment,Zen moods and musical expression in the work.The fourth one,based on self-experience on performance of the work,the author divides the work into four periods,each matched with the Chinese characters Yuan,Qing,Yi,and Kong respectively.The author demonstrates how to use musical aesthetics of the first three characters and the concept of Kong of Buddhism to enable the audience to appreciate the meaning of the work.The unaccompanied divertimento,the Tathagata Dream exists as a mile stone in the development of Erhu.It is of crucial cultural and ideological profoundness.As such,the author hope to make some contribution to the development of Erhu music through the study of the creation and performance of the eighth piece of the Tathagata Dream,Lauren Robe. |
