| Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD)is a type of neurodevelopmental disorder severely affecting the health of children’s physical and mental development, and its major symptoms include deficits in social interaction and social communication skills,as well as the presence of restricted, repetitive and stereotypical interests, activities,or behaviors.Vision is the main window for human to acquire information from outside environment, and binocular vision is the optimal embodiment of adaptation to environment recognition. The eyes play an important role in the flat fusion of binocular vision, and binocular fusion fuses the images of the eyes into a single objective image. The better the fusion effect is,the more helpful it is in deeper information processing. In purpose of exploring the binocular fusion features of ASD children in scene processing, selectting 26 normal children at age three to six,let them watch freely the 12 video clips treated earlier and obtain the number of their gaze points watching video by gathering eye movement tracking data, thus, the scene videos of different complexities are determined as the formal experimental video materials through comparing the number of gaze point. The results show that there are distinctive differences in gaze point number.Given the complexity stability of the video materials, this research sets the formal experimental materials as: object scenes include simple object scene with only one object and complex object scene with three objects;non-social scenes contain simple non-social scene with only one person and no interaction, complex social scene with only three persons and no interaction;social scenes include simple social scene with a pair of persons and interaction and complex social scene with only three pairs of persons and interaction. In Study 1,selectting 22 ASD children and 23 normal children at three-to six-year-old,let them freely watch the six video segments chosen from Research One.By gathering the eye movement tracking data, the DBGP(Distance of Binoculus Gaze Point)index of the children watching videos are compared and elaborated. The results show that(1)the DBGP of ASD children is sharply greater than that of normal children and has the stability of cross-scenes;(2)on different scenes DBGP has medium or medium above differential diagnosis value, which is relatively high and stable on complex social scenes;(3)the specific video content analysis shows that when there are rotating objects, subtle personal activities,faces,mouth-openings and laughter, the ASD children have a lessening DBGP and relatively good binocular fusion effects, whereas the DBGP is constantly increasing when faced with complex social scenes, indicating that the DBGP of ASD children is influenced by the specific pictures and contents of the videos. In Study 2,letting Study two’ participants freely watch the 12 pictures screened from videos in Study One.By gathering eye movement tracking data, the DBGP index of the two groups of children watching the videos are obtained to majorly study the binocular fusion features of ASD children processing scenes where the stimulants are pictures. The results show that(1)the DBGP of ASD children is significantly greater than that of normal children and has the stability of cross-scenes;(2)on different scenes DBGP has bad differential diagnosis value. This research shows that the binocular fusion of ASD children has some defects, the DBGP of subject processing the dynamic scene has medium or medium above differential diagnosis value cross-scenes,and the DBGP of subject processing the static scene has bad differential diagnosis value. |
