Abstract/Summary:
In 2012,the Department of Music Education in Sichuan Conservatory Of Music(the present’Institute of Music Education’)set up the major of wind music which occupies the first speciality orientation of the group courses affiliating to the specialty of music teachers’ education in institutions of higher learning.After new China was founded,the individual courses on virtuosity(solo/vocal solo)played an essential role in the curriculum system,which resulted from the profound and long-term regard to both the application and communication of musical skill in the curriculum provision as well as the cultivation modes of universities’ music teachers.In the meantime,the group courses(ensemble/chorus),which largely differs from the individual ones,didn’t form a sensible and systematic development.It was untrue that it didn’t exist at the very beginning of the setting of the major of music teachers’ education in colleges and universities,but it was arduous to develop at that time due to the unpleasant economic circumstances along with the limited perception embraced by people.However,the rapid development of our nation’s economy witnesses the increasingly rising living standard,thus the concept of diversified and plural music education was ultimately introduced,and the group courses have occupied an indispensable part of the future subjects which are studied by those in teachers’ colleges majoring in music teachers’ education.This dissertation aimed at a detailed and minute analysis on the basis and condition of the setting for the major of wind music,and the curriculum provision as well as the students’ practice in Sichuan Conservatory Of Music.By putting emphasis on the meaning of the establishment of this major,combining with a perspective regarding music education as the practical philosophy,this paper probed into the group courses’ status and value lying in the major of music teachers’education in colleges and universities.
