A Document Study On A Short History Of Opera

In this paper,with A Short History of Opera by Grout and Williamas the main research object,by screening,stratification and induction of the information,the author has outlined the whole development of the opera furthest for a comprehensive show of the opera process from pregnancy,birth to growth.For the study of the history of opera,with time as a clue,the author describes the history period of each music,and opera development in various countries and regions.The mainstructure forming process is that the author follows the original time dividing models,classifies the development of the opera in the main countries,regions and ethnic groups in each period,and makes a summary of the opera development each period.The paper includes six chapters: in the first chapter,the author states the music and drama before the 16 th century,mainly including the drama music and the pregnancy process of the opera before the opera production.In the second chapter,the author introduces the opera in the 17 th century,including the production of the operaand its development of Italy,Germany,France and the United Kingdom.In the third chapter,the author discusses the opera of the 18 th century,with focuson the difference between the serious opera and the comic opera and two important composers-Gluck and Mozart.In the fourth chapter,the author discusses the opera of the 19 th century,with focusonseveral new forms of opera: grand opera,comic opera,light opera and lyrical opera,several important composers: Rossini,Donizetti,Verdi and Wagner,as well as the development of opera in Italy,France and Germany.In the fifth chapter,the author mainly introduces the nationalizationdevelopment of the opera.In the sixth chapter,the author mainly states the grand situation of the opera in the 20 th century,includingthe development of opera mainstream countries,surrounding and ethnic areas.In term of research ideas and processes,it is summarized as whole-dividing – screening – summary.The overall development of the opera is grasped,each part is studied deeply,the information is screened and classified,and finally the various parts are summarized.The author thinks that withthis method,we can achieve the orderly maximumarrangement of information.In addition,we are able to make a scientific integration of the contentin accordance with the importance,so that the final research results have more academic value and practical value.
