| The author began this article from her memory about "bamboo hobbyhorse-picking tealeaves-Mu Opera" in her childhood in Chun An of Zhejiang Province. This author studied the historic resource of "Mu Opera in Chun An" and "bamboo hobbyhorse". With the studying method in the field, the author interviewed the local opera artists, checked the files and operas, studied the historic development and cultural situation of Mu Opera and influence from other operas, analyzed the tune, pronunciation, accompaniment, spoken part and performance. In the end, the author summarized Mu Opera’s artistic characteristics and value, introspected its current almost extinct situation facing the challenge of western culture and modern entertainment culture and called on people to protect, inherit and develop the Mu Opera. |
