The excerpted original texts in this translation project report are from Japan Labor Review,Volume 7,Number 3,2010 Summer. They are respectively "10%of Companies Recruited Foreign Students in the Past Three Years:JILPT Survey on Recruiting of Foreign Students" by Masato Gunji, and "School-to-Work Transition and Employment of Youth in Non-Metropolitan Areas" by Yukie Hori. The texts mainly concern with foreign students working in Japan, and make some analysis and judgements on the data and trends. In such a circumstance that China has more communications with other countries and more foreigners work in China, the things introduced in the texts are worth considering and referring. The translator met some questions during translation work, such as terms, order change, and the "scale" of translation.During translation, the translator found that functional equivalence and skopos are suitable for resolving many questions in translation;the function of the translated text should be the same as the original text, and the translation work should reflect the purpose of the original text. Thus, the translator chose this theory to guide the whole translation process, and chose such translation skills as order change, sentence division, and the transformation between active and passive mood.By doing this translation work, the translator got to know that translation was very complicated, and we should practice a lot to improve our translation skills.Besides, the translator should translate texts of more genres to become more skillful.
