The Study Of Zhu Guangqian's Literary Thoughts Of "Liberalism And Conservatism" In The Republican Period

This paper focuses on Zhu Guangqian 's literary thoughts and tries to prove that it not only contains the literature tradition of liberalism of "aesthetic independence",but also the conservative of the importance of the literature tradition and the slowly reform of literature thoughts through analyzing Zhu Guangqian's literary ideas and activities in the Republican period.This paper mainly consists of four chapters as following.The first chapter explores the relationship between liberalism and conservatism in China and Western countries.It points out that liberalism is opposite to conservatism in modern China,and Zhu Guangqian holds up the conception of liberalism value and promotes the slowly reform of literature.There is a tendency of "liberalism and conservatism" with his literary thoughts.The second chapter explores the origins of his literary thoughts of "liberalism and conservatism" from his education background.Traditional Chinese education in his early days makes him love traditional Chinese literature and westernize education in the University of Hong Kong influences him a lot with the thoughts of "liberalism and conservatism".The third chapter mainly focuses on the theoretical literary construction of Zhu Guangqian's "liberalism and conservatism".The first part elaborates the construction process of "aesthetic independence",the core theory of his liberalism literature.The second part shows his conservatism through his conservative attitude towards New Culture Movement in China.The third part shows his literary thoughts within traditional Chinese resources and Western theories through his explanations to Western theories from the perspective of traditional Chinese resources.The fourth chapter is mainly about Zhu Guangqian 's practical literary activities.The first part analyzes his literary thoughts within "liberalism and conservatism" through his deputation with Hu Shi,Ba Jin,Liang Shiqiu,famous Chinese authors.The second part is mainly about his literary editing activities and shows his editing style.The third part points out that Zhu Guangqian holds the critical rule of liberalism literary and the tendency to classical literature through analyzing his articles.
