On the one hand, the existing research has been an independent study of affective priming and semantic priming. The comparison of the two based on the same experimental environment was relatively few.The researchers usually used different experimental tasks as well.So the effect of the priming was different. On the other hand, considerable behavioral studies showed the influence of expectedness on emotion, but the results which based on the self-report seem to be subjective.Subjective emotional assessment cannot fully reflect some unconscious mood. Therefore, this study uses behavioral experiments to examine the similarities and differences between affective priming and semantic priming in the different conditions of cognitive load and expectedness.A total of two experiments are carried out using the same experimental material and the same experimental task. Both Experiment 1 and 2 need to complete the task of valence judgment and gender classifies experiments. In the case of different cognitive load tasks,Experiment 1is used to set SOA = 250 ms to explore whether the individuals have differences between affective priming and semantic priming and what differences are present. In the case of different expectedness,Experiment 2uses the form of graph-graph materials, setting SOA = 250 ms.It aims to explore the differences between affective priming and semantic priming. Results show that:(1)semantic priming is more susceptible to emotional information, while the effect of semantic information on affective priming is relatively less.(2)Under the condition of high cognitive load task, the influence of emotional/semantic information combined consistency to affective priming is less than that to semantic priming.(3)The expectedness mainly affect the affective priming, while the effect on semantic priming is relatively less.
