Research On The Symbolic Meaning And Design Of Native Totem Decorative In Modern Daily Necessities

The culture and art of Taiwan natives is irreplaceable precious cultural assets.To a certain extent,it performs human behavior and the pursuit of beauty instinct and primitive power.Its abstract concepts and profound meaning are embodied in the performance of art's physical behavior,forming the unique totem symbol of the nation.The present paper attempts through the research on Taiwan Aboriginal totem ornamentation,cultural understanding and caring attitude,together with the perspective of product design,product semantics and semiotics,to analyze Taiwan Aboriginal totem ornamentation in the modern life in the symbolic meaning of the transformation and design patterns.The study is divided into three stages,the first stage: By exchanging learning opportunities in Taiwan,I deeply study the indigenous culture park,together with literature research,and conduct a research on Taiwan's indigenous culture and totem.Taiwan's aboriginal totem originates from the notion of all things,which is manifested as reverence for the natural things,forming abstract and vivid,symmetrical,balanced and repetitive,advocating the artistic characteristics of black,white and red.The second stage: I went to Taiwan's major sales platform for conducting research,selected 48 aboriginal modern life supplies as a research object,and analyzed 14 samples in the design of modern daily necessities in the symbolic meaning of the transformation.The totem decorations of the mechanized and meaningless extraction will weaken the meaning of symbols to convey.The third stage: Using summary induction method,we summed up the aboriginal totem decoration in the modern daily necessities of the design of the shape,color,texture,quality,constitute the design transformation to keep product practicality and to comply with the uniqueness of the aborigines.Using product semantics to analyze the classic case,from the aspects of function,symbol,interesting and care,we explore the design pattern of modern daily necessities.The original national culture and art,although increasingly attracts people's attention,but it encounters problems continuously in the developing process.Though the analysis and summary of the Taiwan's indigenous totem symbol in the modern daily necessities in the cultural connotation and design application,we found common problems and figure out the solutions.Moreover,we can also find the future of cultural heritage and design development possibilities,which can apply to the design of modern daily necessities for national culture,and play a certain role of reflection and reference.
