A Report On The E-C Translation Of Cyber Security Conference Summary From The Perspective Of Skopostheory

Nowadays,more and more internet related international conferences are held in different countries.As the discussion on internet security is increasingly active,international internet security conference summaries become the main material for communication in this field,playing a significant role on the internet security development in China.Therefore,the accuracy of the translated text of these overviews has a great influence on its communication.Based on three cyber security conferences held by the Royal Institute of International Affairs Chatham House in 2011-2013,the thesis analyzes the summary translation under the guidance of Skopostheory.The report analyzes the summaries of cyber security conference from the perspective of Katharina Reiss' Text Typology and defines this kind of text as informative text.The three rules of Skopostheory—skopos rule,coherence rule,and fidelity rule—are comprehensively applied in the translation practice through translation strategies such as amplification,omission,conversion of parts of speech,adjustment of word order and voices,so as to make the target language coherent,loyal and spirit conveyed.The main founding of the report is that Skopostheory can effectively guide the translation of the summaries of cyber security conference with the flexible use of different translation strategies,resulting in better translation quality.The report aims to deepen the understanding of conference summary translation in this industry,and provide reference for translation practice of related texts in the future.
