The Yuan Dynasty was a unified emperor established by the Mongolian nationality,and its territory was unprecedentedly large.The Yuan Dynasty established a post road traffic network extending in all directions to maintain its political rule and strengthen economic ties in various regions.The Inner Mongolia area has an important position in the Yuan Dynasty,Shangdu is the one of the national political centers and plays the role of the important transportation hub.The Mongolian post road traffic also formed the comprehensive transportation network in the dynasty.The network greatly strengthened the economic ties and cultural exchanges among Inner Mongolia,the mainland,the western regions and North of the Gobi desert.First of all,this paper introduces the administrative divisions of Inner Mongolia area in the Yuan Dynasty;second,it tells the post roads and focuses on stating the post roads under the management of political institute of Inner Mongolia in Yuan Dynasty,the above are the core to be carried out,including Tieligan,Mulianyi and Nalianyi.Third,according to the difference of managing organizations,it states the post roads under the jurisdiction of Zhou and County and kings,mainly introducing the hubs such as Shangdu,Daning,Fengzhou,Dongshengzhou,Yijinailu,Nalanbula and Chahannaoer;at last,it discusses the management mode and function of post road traffic in Inner Mongolia in the Yuan Dynasty.The Inner Mongolia post road traffic facilitated the connection between the Inner Mongolia and the surrounding areas,playing an important role in the political,economic and cultural development of Inner Mongolia.
