| The capital of Ancient Uyghur is Qara-balgas which locates on the west bank of Orhon river,Hotengtsum,Hangay Uul,Mongolia,and it is also the first city established by the Ancient Uyghurlars.In Mongol,khar means black,balgas means city,and it is also called Ordo-Baliq which also means capital city.It is the most special city ruins both in scale and architecture.It carries the information about the politics,economy,military,and culture of the Ancient Uighur;it is also a very important resource to record the history of Ancient Uyghur.This thesis first reviewed the research history about khar-balgas city ruins,and the author makes a conclusion about the achievements and shortages of the research in the past.The thesis is divided into 3 chapters.In the first chapter the author describes the environment around khar-balgas seriously,the special environment and nature of Orhon River offered congenital condition for the establishment of Khar-balgas city.It has still been uncertain about the problem of who built the city and when it was established,different scholars have different opinions about this problem and no textual research has been done yet.In this chapter the author based on the pre-research and makes a deeper and systematically research about the texture and layout of the city.In the second chapter the author investigated the excavation of the city and its antiques,city ruins and the tombs nearby,when the ancient Uyghurlars established the city the tombs of the aristocrats were built as well.In the third chapter,the author mainly researched the cultural meaning and its history role in east-west communication in history which showed in its layout and antiques.At last,in this thesis,the author's systematical research based on the archaeological remains and the antiques excavated from the tombs together combines with the material of excavation and investigation in the past and the related document,in order to recover the prosperity about the ancient Khar-balgas city. |
