“Medical Aspects Of The Low Carbohydrate Lifestyle” E-C Interpretation Practical Report

This is an English-Chinese interpretation practice report based on a medical lecture delivered by Timothy Noakes,a lifelong honorary professor of Cape Town University of South Africa,discussing the “Medical Aspects of the Low Carbohydrate Lifestyle”.Despite the professional contents of the lecture,it is filled with lots of medical words and theories,which is perfect for the theme of this report — “the application of note-taking in medical field”.Note-taking is seriously studied and popularized by many scholars and experienced interpreters.Based on lots of references on note-taking both at home and abroad and the author's own experience and knowledge as well as the experience of conducting the interpretation practice of the lecture “Medical Aspects of the Low Carbohydrate Lifestyle”,the report provides an explicit explanation mainly on the function,principle,creation and application of notes;focusing on two main functions of note-taking: recording function with its three aspects — general idea,logic points and information hard to remember,and reminding function with its three aspects — information visualization,element marks and creation of notes,through the above-mentioned two main functions of note-taking,the author is aiming to disclose the mysterious veil of interpretation note-taking.Finally,the author emphasizes that interpretation note-taking is,by its nature,a kind of skill instead of knowledge: he who wants to be proficient must go through tons of practice;besides,note-taking has a strong personality of the interpreter,all the theories and knowledge about note-taking is only meant for reference,never be over dependent.The author sincerely hopes this report will benefit more interpretation learners in the future.
