For Chinese painting,brush-and-ink is both a language tool and an aesthetic object of Chinese painting.It is both the form and the content as well as the core value of Chinese painting aesthetic under the Chinese cultural value system.The unique aesthetic qualities and spiritual connotations of the lotus make it an excellent choice for studying and learning brush-and-ink language of Chinese painting.Chen Chun,Xu Wei of Ming Dynasty,Bada Shanren and Shi Tao of Qing Dynasty,were the most influential painting master since the Ming and Qing Dynasties,leaving plenty of painting works and painting theory of lotus freehand brushwork.Chen Chun's "painting the lifelikeness of "pursuit of brush-and-ink,Xu Wei's "lingering charm beyond rules","technique into the nature law," state of brush-and-ink,Bada Shanren's "pen Jane Fung" content of brush-and-ink,and Shi Tao's "Imitation of Nature","Ruleless Rule"freedom of the brush-and-ink,showed the infinite charm of brush-and-ink laguage of Chinese painting to the world.All of these are the classic of our imitating and research,this article is the process presentation of the study of exploring brush-and-ink language of Chinese painting.To improve the quality of our painting with brush-and-ink,we need to study the classic brush-and-ink language,meanwhile,we also need to maintain a good state of observation,sketching,creating in painting.A good state will base on the classic understanding and inheritance,observation and awareness for nature,and inner strength and acuity.To find and adjust to this good state of painting is the ultimate goal of the author to study this subject,because this state has a very important significance for freehand brushwork practice and even the entire freehand painting process.
