After a century of discussion, people have a more general understanding of the relationship between styling and brushstrokes in freehand figure paintings. That is,they are inseparable and interdependent entities, squandered on a non-modeling basis,or Only talking about the shape without regard to the characteristics of Chinese brush ink can not be an excellent freehand figure painting. However, the difficulty of freehand brushwork lies in the rigor of the fusion modeling and the agility of the brushstrokes. There are still many creators in the relationship between the shape and the pen and ink. This is due to the fact that western art concepts have entered the Chinese painting circle and brought with it the concept of scientific and realistic styling. At the same time, the way of observation has gradually replaced the image observation method of traditional Chinese painting. This led to the inconsistency between modeling methods and observation methods in freehand drawing. This article will combine its own understanding and experience in the process of learning and creation, trying to use imagery to understand the relationship between the rigor of modeling and the agility of brushstrokes.
