Research On The Influence Of Brainwave Music On College Students' Emotiongna State

Brainwave music is new type of music with a specific form.It is a kind of personalized and biological music whose basis elements are transformed from brainwave signal features and parameters.The brain is the center of advanced activities and all human activities are derived from it.The signals of the brain contain a variety of information;therefore,brainwave music is a new carrier of these kind of information.This study combines brainwave music with music therapy.Based on previous research results,the effects of brainwave music on emotional state of college students were discussed.College students are a group with widely concern.The mental health of college students influences their development and life so that their emotional status determines their mental health directly.The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of brainwave music on the emotional state of college students,and focus on finding new ways of counseling mental health and to promote the application of music therapy in college students' mental health education.Experimental research methods were adopted in this study,a total of 178 subjects were recruited,including 96 boys and 82 girls.And also,a single factor,four level experimental design was conducted in this study as well.Different sound stimuli were used as independent variables to demonstrate the influence of brainwave music on the emotional status of college students.The experiment was divided into 3 groups,including an experimental group,a control group and a blank group.The experimental group is brainwave music group which uses brainwave music as sound material;the control group is voice group,including meaningful speech materials(Youth Digest)and meaningless speech materials(French news);the blank group is set for controlling other irrelevant variables.Among them,the study uses a filter with ‘homogeneity' of voice group material.This filter adopted an inner design of single factor and three level subjects to ensure that the same experience and feeling are brought to those experimented people by both voice group materials and brainwave music materials to ensure the "homogeneity",excluded the differences caused by various emotions.In the experiment,the SCL-90 symptom scale(Symptom self-testing Checklist 90,SCL-90)is used as an evaluation tool which would be used both before and after the testing to explore the different influence performed by various sound materials.Based on thecollected data analysis we find that the brainwave music has a significant influence on college students' emotional states,mainly being shown on depression,anxiety and hostility.It is also found that there are significant differences among the 4 factors which includes compulsion,relationship,bigoted,and psychotic.It is also found that there is no difference on the sex dimension of the emotional impact of brainwave music on college students while there are outstanding differences on the musical accomplishment dimension,and there is no interaction between them.During the experiment,the Auto-Relax Wi-Fi intelligent feedback group wireless decompression system was used to record the physiological value of the subjects to investigate the effect of different sound materials on the relaxation degree of the subjects.The experimental research through the physiological mechanism of the effect of brainwave music on the emotional state of the heart rate,breathing and relaxation curves,find that the brainwave music could let the participants relax in a short time and maintain the relaxed state.This study demonstrates the positive effects of brainwave music on the emotional status of college students.On the one hand,this consequence broadens the application of brainwave music and proves the practice value of brainwave music;on the other hand,it also provides new ideas and ways to solve the psychological problems of undergraduates and promote the level of psychological health of college students.
