Cooperative inhibition refers to that when people jointly complete a recognition or recall task in a group, the total amount of information extracted by group members is significantly lower than that extracted by individuals with the same number of group members without redundancy. The reinforcement effect of emotional memory is defined as the fact that memories of emotionally meaningful material are generally more vivid and accurate than memories of neutral material. In this study,we tried to adopt the classic cooperative inhibition research paradigm to induce different emotional states of individuals and let them learn words with different emotional titers. We used the familiar group of subjects and took the correct amount of recall as the index, and college students as the subjects to investigate the differences in the influence of emotion on cooperative inhibition in different gender groups. The research objective was achieved through two experiments:Experiment 1 uses words with different emotional valences as learning materials, selects friends of the same gender as members of the collaboration group, and examines whether there will be a cooperative inhibition phenomenon among acquaintances. If there is a collaborative inhibition phenomenon, and there is a difference in the recall accuracy of different emotional valence words,it means that the valence of emotional words has an impact on cooperative memory. The results of the study found that the collaboration group had lower scores than the nominal group, and the phenomenon of collaboration inhibition occurred;however, the lexical emotional titer had no effect on collaboration inhibition;gender had no relationship with collaboration inhibition. The results show that the influence of emotional words on collaborative inhibition is not different among different gender groups. In Experiment 2,based on Experiment 1,continue to select friends of the same gender as members of the collaboration group, and induce individuals to have positive or negative emotional states before starting to learn words with different emotional valences, and then let the subjects learn different emotional valences vocabulary.Investigate whether the cooperative memory will be affected after the independent variable of emotional state is introduced. The research results found that: in the negative emotional state, the amount of cooperative inhibition of negative words was significantly lower than that of neutral words;in the positive emotional state, the emotional nature of the material had no effect on cooperative inhibition;and the above results did not have gender difference. The results show that, under the negative emotional state, mood consistency has an effect on cooperative inhibition, and it is universal in different gender groups.
