A Study Of AB-BA Type Inverse Words In Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language

Inverse word is also called reverse word,refers to a pair of words in which the order of Chinese characters is inversed,and it is kind of special in Chinese vocabulary.AB-BA type inverse word refers to the composition of the Chinese characters of the same pair of disyllable reverse word,including the same morphemes and inverse words formed with different morphemes.As we all know,teaching Chinese characters is a difficult point in Chinese teaching because two similar Chinese characters will be difficult for foreign students to distinguish.and in a pair of AB-BA type inverse word,the two characters in a word are completely the same but the order is inversed,and this will cause great difficulty to teaching Chinese as a foreign language.From the fifties of the twentieth century,linguistics have made a lot of research,and in recent years,many scholars threw out many suggestions in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language for inverse words' particularity.But these recommendations are more general but not targeted.Therefore,we picked out all of the inverse words in ‘HSK Vocabulary and Chinese Character Grading Syllabus',and analyzed them in these five respects as ‘rank',‘the meaning of the word',‘the meaning of the morpheme',‘part of speech' and ‘structure'.And we also sorted out the AB-BA type inverse words about teaching Chinese as a foreign language and to make a table of them.Of these,we put forward targeted teaching principles and strategies about inverse word.According to the different characteristics of the inverse words,we classified the teaching strategies.What's more,we concluded the teaching strategies of AB-BA type inverse words forms about teaching Chinese as a foreign language.These forms can help Chinese teachers for foreigners select the appropriate teaching method of inverse words quickly.Hope this paper can provide references for inverse words teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
