A Study On “Henduo” And “Henshao” In Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language

“Henduo” and “Henshao” are two common words in Mandarin.Based on lots of sentences from Corpus,by using several research methods such as text analysis,contrastive analysis and frequency statistics and so on,we made some analysis of “Henduo” and “Henshao” from the point of Chinese language teaching and learning.We summarize the usage of “Henduo” and “Henshao” from many sentences from the Chinese native speakers,and analyze the distribution of these two words from the textbooks,then we get the result of usages from second language learners.We found that there is some unreasonable places of the distribution of “Henduo” and “Henshao” in the sixth,seventh and ninth volume of new edition of Zhongwen,such as there are too many sentences of “Henduo” while only 2 sentences of “Henshao”.Foreign students learn well about the usage of “Henduo” as the subject or predicate in the sentence.Foreign students always make mistake when “Henshao” is used as adverbial modifier with the verb “You”.Finally,on the base of the mentioned aspects,we give some suggestion to the teaching of “Henduo” and “Henshao” to the second language learners.We hope all of the effort could be helpful to the research and teaching of “Henduo” and “Henshao”.
