A Study Of Interpretation Practicum On The 2016 China-UK Football Exchange Program

From June to September in 2016,the autthor participated in the 2016 China-UK Campus Football Exchange Program,working as an English interpreter for this project.In retrospect of this three-montth translation practice,this paper evaluates the interpretation effect and develops solutions to problems in interpretation practice,based on Li Changshuan's practical framework of "Understanding,Memory,Expression and Emergency Response"(UMEER),which has been proposed in his Meaning and Expression:Annotated Texts in English/Chinese interpretation.This paper falls into five parts.The first chapter gives a brief introduction to the task.The second chapter describes the main work during various stages.The third part introduces the UMEER Practical Framework,analyses gains and losses in theauthor's interpretation practice through this model and then proposes solutions to the problems occurring during interpretation.The fourth part summarizes the interpreter's experience and problems in this interpretation practice,reflections of this practical framework,and puts forward the corresponding suggestions for interpretation teaching.The final part includes a wealth of vocabulary,hoping to provide future interns in this exchange program with translation materials,and these vocabularies have been handed over to the organizers for a wider use.
