The Study On Zhang Family Of Xuanhua In Hebei

Family-centered Han gentry group which played an im portant role o n social development can not be ignored during the Liao and Jin dynasties.The Zhang fa mily existed in the Liao and Jin dynasties,it rose probably at the m iddle of the Liao Dynasty,and reached its heyday in the Jin dynasty.The political s ituation was unstable from the end of Liao dynasty to the prophase of the Jin dynasty,but it provided an opportunity for the developm ent of the Zhang family.The Zhang family social status had a fundam ental change from an ordinary rich fam ily to an of ficial family.Though a lot of the rich family was declined from the Liao dynasty to the Jin dynasty,the Zhang family became an official family gradually.So the development of the Zhang family was especially representative.This thesis is divided into five chap ters,the first chapte r is the introduction.It mainly introduces the Zhang family research purpose and significance,research status,research methods and innovation and Zhang fa mily concept,which lays the foundation for the body from four aspects.The second chapter is the lineage of the Zhang fa mily.The ancestral hom e and lineage of the Zhang fam ily will be put in order according to the unearthed epitaphs.The Zhang family descendants were a total of eight generations and divided into three lines in the Liao and Jin dynasties.Zhang Wenji,Zhang Wenzhen,Zhang Wenzao were representatives among the descendants.The third chapter is the rise of Zhang fa mily in Liao dynasty.The family raised its fame and expanded its power at the local place by relying on the e conomy and marriage,never forgetting to s trive for pr omotion of political status.The political status of the Zhang family changed in the late of the Liao dynasty.The fourth chapter is the development of the Zhang fa mily in Jin dynasty.The political status of the Zhang fam ily changed greatly.The family became the official family gradually.Many members of the family went into politics by Yinbu or imperial examination.The family strengthened its pol itical status by relying on the economy and marriage continuously.The fifth chapter is the ethnic po licy by analyzing the development of the Zhang family during the end of Liao Dynasty to th e prophase of the Jin Dynasty.It can be seen that the rulers of the Liao and Jin dynasties roped in Han gentry and put them in important positions from the change of the Zhang f amily’s political status.The devotion of the Zhang family members to Buddhism can reflect that the Liao dynasty rulers paid attention to Buddhism.The family members revived state education,which met the needs of the rulers,reflecti ng the Jin dynasty rulers’ attention of Confucian culture.The family kept the economy as the support and participated in social good deeds actively,which made it be ac tive in the social life stage in the Liao and Jin dynasties.
