| This is a report on the translation of Performing under Pressure--The Science of Doing your Best When It Matters Most by Dr.Hendrie Weisinger and Dr.J.P.Pawliw Fry,from which the translator chose Chapters 5 & 6 as the source text.By citing original research and first-hand material,the authors provide important insights into how people experience,respond to and can manage pressure more effectively.Moreover,it explains the source of stress in our daily life and points out some unobservable stressors.As similar researches data are rare in China when the translator looked through the relevant books,the translator considered it as helpful to have the source text translated into Chinese.In this translation report,the translator examines some typical problems during the translation process.This report is composed of five chapters.Chapter one is an introduction which includes translation project and its significance and objectives.Chapter two is the introduction to the source language text and its analysis.Chapter three states the theoretical foundation that supports the whole report,which is dynamic equivalence,and the translation preparation is also involved in this part.As the most crucial part of this report,chapter four illustrates some problems like abstract nouns and cultural-loaded phrases,and its relevant solutions during the translation process.Chapter five summarizes lessons that the translator has gained in the translation process and some problems still to be solved. |
