Multi-national area,especially the minorities and Han nationality mixed residential areas,members more frequent exchanges between different ethnic groups,and national relationship is also more diverse and complex.Primary and middle school students' physical and mental aspects are in development,and the construction of minority teenagers' national identity and the willingness of their cross-ethnic interaction relate to the harmonious development of the future national relations.This research has the primary and middle school students of the Hui nationality which live in the northwest areas inhabited by the Hui-Han as the research object,research the attitude which the ethnic minorities(Hui)members feel from the outside groups(dominate group)in the area,present situation of national identity,the willingness of their cross-ethnic interaction and the relationship of them,hope to provide some theoretical guidance to promote exchanges between different ethnic groups in the region.The results of the study are as follows:(1)The understanding attitude outside groups,the willingness of cross-ethnic interaction and the national identity of the primary and middle school students of the Hui nationality,which live in the areas inhabited by the Hui-Han,present positive status in the overall.The specific expression in:the scores of understanding attitude outside groups,across ethnic contact and the national identity in two dimensions scores are above the theory value.(2)The three variables' different condition are differences on the anthropology(sex,grade and family area).The specific expression in:The two dimensions of understanding attitude on gender differences is boys are significantly higher than girls,the students that live in a compact community has the higher positive attitude than the students that live in the scattered regions in the difference of the habitation,negative attitudes do not exist significant differences in two dimensions,the senior's positive attitude is significant higher than the junior in the difference of grade,and the senior's negative attitude is significant lower than the junior.The two dimensions of the national identity on gender differences is girls are significantly higher than boys,on the difference of the habitation,the students that live in a compact community has the higher national identity to their own nation than the students that live in the scattered regions and they are no significant difference of the Chinese nation identity,in the difference of grade,the senior's is significant higher than the junior in the two dimensions of the national identity.The two dimensions of the willingness of the Hui primary and middle school students' cross-ethnic interaction on gender differences is boys are significantly higher than girls,in the difference of the habitation,the students that live in a compact community has the higher willingness than the students that live in the scattered regions,in the difference of grade,the senior's is significant higher than the junior in the willingness of their cross-ethnic interaction.(3)The relationship of the three variables and their dimensions in primary and middle school students of the Huinationality,which live in the areas inhabited by the Hui-Han,is specific expression in:The understanding positive attitude forwardly predict the willingness of Hui primary and middle school students' cross-ethnic interaction through the mediating functions of the Chinese nation identity.The Chinese nation identity have played partial mediating role between them.The understanding negative attitude negatively predict the willingness of their cross-ethnic interaction through the mediating functions of the Chinese nation identity.The Chinese nation identity have played partial mediating role between them.The understanding negative attitude negatively predict the willingness of their cross-ethnic interaction through the mediating functions of the national identity to their own nation.The national identity to their own nation have played partial mediating role between them.
