This paper relies on the Ministry of Education project "A survey of the use of Putonghua in primary and secondary school teachers in ethnic areas of Sichuan Province" which is in charge of the Education Department of Sichuan province. We collect a lot of data which were analyzed through questionnaires. We described in detail in the use of Putonghua in primary and secondary school teachers in minority areas of Sichuan Province and analyzes the problems of it.This paper is divided into six parts: The first chapter is an introduction. It includes the purpose and significance of the paper, literature review, interpretation of questionnaire design, a brief description of ethnic areas in Sichuan. The second chapter is a statistical description of the basic information of respondents. It includes respondent’s gender, age and nationality, etc. The third chapter is the language of respondents described usage statistics. It includes respondents language usage and the mastery of Mandarin in different occasions. The Chapter IV undertakes the last chapter. We analyzed the respondents’ language attitude including mandarin level evaluation and respondents’ perceptions of teaching language. The fifth chapter made a comprehensive analysis of the survey questions of. It is a correlation analysis of the basic information and language use of the respondents. The last chapter is a summary of the main conclusions and views of this paper.
