In the late 1920 s,England was in a period of rapid modernization,the process of urbanization accelerated,and urban sprawl extended to rural areas in England at an unprecedented speed,the building extends along both sides of the road,forming a "ribbon development".The traditional rural environment had been greatly impacted,caused people to think and worry.Under these circumstances,Campaign to Protect the Rural England came into being.Its goal is to create a quiet,beautiful England countryside,maintaining rural diversity and promoting sustainable rural development.Campaign to Protect the Rural England is a non-governmental environmental protection organization which has a great influence on the rural areas of England.Before the Second World War,it paid close attention to the protection of rural scenery mainly from the aspects of urban and rural planning and aesthetic value.After the war,it became active and began to pay attention to rural economic and social problems.In the late 1960 s,it entered a period of all-round development.Today,its field of activities has covered agriculture and food,transportation and many other aspects.In the course of the development of Campaign to Protect the Rural England,it relies on its unique organizational structure,firmly believes in the importance of proper planning for urban and rural development,and actively deals with conflicts between urban and rural areas.Through unremitting efforts,it has promoted the formulation of a number of important laws and regulations,and has promoted and popularized environmental awareness among the people.It not only protects the beautiful natural scenery of the countryside,but also improves and improves the living environment of the people,and promotes the sustained and benign development of the rural areas.It set a good example for the later generations to deal with the relationship between modernization and rural environment and social development.
