A Report On The E-C Translation Of The Climate Report Australia’s Second Biennial Report(Chapter 1-3)

This paper is a report of translation practice.This translation project includes chapter 1-3 of the report entitled “Australia’s Second Biennial Report” published by the Australian Department of Environment December 2015.The Australia’s second Biennial Report is a comprehensive summary of Australia’s progress towards meeting its commitments under the United National Framework Convention on Climate Change(UNFCCC).The first and second chapters of the biennial report show the current emission situation and trend,providing with a great variety of greenhouse gas data by sectors.The third chapter presents the Australia’s Quantified Economy-wide Emission Reduction Target(QEERT)and sets forth the aim of the 2020 emissions reduction target.This translation report consists of four parts.Part one is task description which briefly introduces the background of the task,features of the source text and related materials.Part two is process description which separately introduces the preparation work of pre-translation,translation tools and post-translation.Part three is case study which elaborates on the equal value translation and illustrates the source text with examples.Part four makes a conclusion for the whole translation practice.
