A Study On The Ⅲ Phase Of Xiaozhushan Culture

Xiaozhushan III Culture was named by the Xiaozhushan middle-level remains on Guanglu Island in Liaoning Changhai,which belongs to those cultures on Liaodong Peninsula in the middle Neolithic Age.There are Sites had been officially excavated,includes Xiaozhushan Site、Wujiacun Site、Guojia、cun Site、DongshuikouSite etc.This thesis deems Xiaozhushan III Culture combines several culture elements,it has abundant culture connotations.It was based on local culture(Xiaozhushan II Culture)which absorbed Houwa top-level Culture ’s elements,and then became a new archaeological culture affect by Dawenkou Culture.On the basis of analyzing many representative sites,this thesis will generalize the connotation of Xiaozhushan III Culture,and will also make a type division which according to its distribution and regional differences.This thesis will be based on stratigraphy,and classifies the potteries of Xiaozhushan III Culture,divides Xiaozhushan III Culture into three parts as early/middle/late and three groups as A/B/C,then analyzes the source and the way it spreads.This thesis will also analyze it’ s economic structure by using floatation and appraisal of animal bones.Xiaozhushan III Culture’s hybrid economic structure based on fishing and hunting,also has farming and animal husbandry.Xiaozhushan Ⅲ Culture not only has connection with Dawenkou culture on Jiaodong Peninsula,and also many archaeological cultures on Korean Peninsula in the middle Neolithic Age.
