The Literatus' Activity Of Freeing Captive Animals In The Late Ming Dynasty

In the late Ming dynasty,the Buddhism has been become complete Chinese style.It is much closer and more multivariable between the Buddhism and the folk society.One of the major prominent performance is that large number of literatus or lay Buddhists to participate in the practice of Freeing Captive Animals in Buddhism.In this paper,I'll use the research methods,such as religion,history,philology and folklore,integrately,to release the related history and culture of their activities,by the background of Ming dynasty.This paper mainly studies and research from three aspects.The first part,this paper discusses the significance of Freeing Captive Animals in Buddhism,and explore the reasons,such as religious,social and so on,of its popularity in the late Ming dynasty.Meanwhile,discussing the their activities before the Ming dynasty.The second part,first of all,through the literature of late Ming,to classify three kinds of Freeing Captive Animals about literatus in the late Ming dynasty,including Buddhist associations,literatus' associations and personal activities.Then,on the basis of the above,this paper discusses the thought of the Zen and Pure Land Sect,the relationship between Confucianism and Buddhism and secular culture,and so on.The third part,through the above research,combined with the activities of Tang and Song dynasty,summarizing three characteristics,including conscious belief,mind pursuit and association.At the same time,to show two feelings about buddhism belief and secular profit.In the last,to show the condition of the Qing dynasty and republic of China,and to point out the value and feasibility of the group model in the current society.
