Literati Associations And Dramas In The Middle And Late Ming Dynasty

When discussing the literature in Ming Dynasty, the association of Ming Dynasty has to be mentioned. It was an organization activity of Chinese literatis in a fairly long historical period and it did not only exist in Ming Dynasty. However, the association of Ming Dynasty has many different styles from those of former dynasties because of the special political background, economic status, the cultural ethos in the very dynasty. One of these styles was that there was opera art added into the association of Ming Dynasty. The prosperity of the opera art in the late Ming Dynasty enriched the association of literatis.At the same time, the grandness of the association of literatis in the late Ming Dynasty promoted the development of opera art. Thus there was an internal relationship between the two in the special time background and social thoughts.On the basis of detailed historical materials, this paper was divided into four chapters:Chap 1:It firstly summarized the brilliant phenomenon brought by the association of literatis and opera art and enumerated concretely the facts of the two in the middle and late Ming Dynasty. It also analysed the reasons of such phenomenon on the study of descriptions of phenomena and facts.Chap 2:It discussed the leading character of drama choice for literatis in the middle and late Ming Dynasty from the following three aspects:the choice of prostitutes and dramas, the performance of dramas and the aesthetic taste of literatis. The key point was the choice of dramas.Chap 3:It discussed the effects of dramas on literatis. Performing dramas became an intermediary way for young women to get reward and had a unique effect among literatis. In this chapter, it unfolded the involvement of drama into the literatis associationsChap 4:It analysed the effect of the blend of the literatis associations and dramas in detail. Firstly, it overviewed the intergration of the two.And then it discussed mainstream opera waves influenced by the associations. At last, it interpreted the entertainment of literatis associations appearing from opera waves.Generally, the brilliant blending of literatis associations and opera waves in the middle and late time of Ming Dynasty was the big wave and big pattern of literature evolution in the late Ming Dynasty. The research significance can not be ignored.
