With the rapid development of China's economy and social progress,more and more attention has been paid to the translation of Chinese government documents.In this translation report,the writer targeted at The Thirteenth Five-year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of Linyi,with the intention to provide a good chance for the foreigners to understand the development of Linyi City.This research mainly includes five parts: the first part is the introduction in which briefly shows the translation task background,the importance of the translation and the framework of this research.In the second part,the translation task is described,including the content,function and style of the translated text.The third part is the theoretical basis,briefly introducing the functional equivalence theory and the importance of functional equivalence theory in translation.The fourth part is the analysis of translation process mainly from the aspects of preparation,translation and quality control.The fifth part is the case analysis,which is classified and analyzed from the lexical level,the syntactic level and the textual level.In this part,the attention is paid to the translation of abbreviations and category words as well as the translation of zero-subject sentences and long sentences.The conclusion is drawn in the last part of this paper.In the process of translation,it is necessary to choose appropriate translation strategies at the lexical level,grammatical level and context level.
