| Wu Yuanheng,who's secondary personal name stylewas Bocang,He'nan Gou's(now southeast henan yanshi)person,was famous prime minister in the middle period of Tang Dynasty.He was brilliant when he was young,and became palace graduate in the fourth year of Jianzhong emperor's reign of the emperorDeZong.He had served as a supervision censor at first,thenas the county official,theassistant department director of the ministry of rites,Langzhong of right section,assistant minister of justice at last.In the second year of Yuanhe emperor's reign,he was appointed asmenxia councilvice-president,and jointly manager of affairs.In Octobor in the same year,he was awarded as Linhuai chevalier,and had been military governor in Xichuan Jiannan.Then he was recalled back to be prime minister again in the eighth year of Yuanhe emperor's reign.Military governorship hated him as hestrongly advocated to weaken them so that he had been assassinated by Wang Chengzong who was the military governor in Chengde Army in June in the tenth year of Yuanhe emperor's reign.Si Tu had been awarded to him,with the posthumous title of loyalty and grief.Wu Yuanheng was a well-known poet in the middle Tang Dynastywho skilled inFive-word poem/five characters poetry.His poems was prevailing at that time,and they always had been in the orchestra.“The critic had said that only Gao Shi was good at poetizing while being an official,and only Yuanheng was an official when was an excellent poet”(Gifted Scholar of Tang Dynasty,the fourth volume).He was the author of Wu Yuanheng sets(with another name Linhuai poem sets)which had ten volumes in total.The poems of Wu Yuanheng were famous for its characteristics of glorious beauty which intensivelyperformed the poetic style in Zhenyuan period.WuYuanheng sets had been compiled in ten volumes initially,but some content was scattered and lost and wrongly included when spreaded.Wu Yuanheng sets had no seperate edition existingthese days,that we could find it in some sylloges,which had nearly twenty versions included poems in different items.The version ofTang Yin Tong Qianwas comparativelyintactrecorded in total two huandred and four poems in which a few were whether created by Wu Yuanheng or not was still in doubt waiting for textual research.Several rare books in the Ming and Qing dynasties surviving today collected Wu Yuanheng's poems all less than two hundred pieces.The proses wrote by Wu Yuanheng exist not much today.There are ten inconfirmedQuan Tang Wen,three in Tang Wengleanings,and two in Quan Tang Wen Supplement.The academic circles put the studies of Wu Yuanheng together on the investigation into his family standing and his life at present,as well as his poetry style.The spaceof collationand annotationin poetic prose is availabled forexploiting.This paper refers to the previous research,with widely collecting,arranging,comparing the Wu Yuanheng poetry sets in the different versions of bronzeschrift copy,codex,block printed codex in the period of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty,Wu Yuanheng ten-pieces version in confirmedQuan Tang Wenof recodex in the period of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty at Guangzhou,Wu Yuanheng ten-pieces version in Quan Tang Wenalign vertically by Zhonghua Shuju in 1983.Based on the materials above,this paper has been departed into two parts of the first ang the second one.The first part contains three chapters.Chapter 1 has roughly textual researched the family standing and life of Wu Yuanheng according to related historical data,and furtherly supplement with the time when he had passed the imperial examination and the companionship.Chapter 2 mainly textured and textual researched the various kinds of versions of Wu Yuanheng's potry and prose sets more detailed.And Chapter 3 emphasizes on the analysis to the artistic features of Wu Yuanheng's potry and proses.Then the second part is about collation and annotation of poetry.This paper will choose the three-volume version of Wu Yuanheng sets inOne hunderd Tang Poet of block printed edition in Ming dynasty as foundation in the three rare books existed,while the Wu Yuanheng ten-pieces version in confirmedQuan Tang Wenof codex in the period of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty will be used as foundation in the collation and annotation of prose,and with reference to the other different versions respectively to annotate and analyze the Place names,person's names,official's names,ancient laws and regulations,literary quotations detailed and accurate in Wu Yuanheng's potry and proses existed(included two poems created by Wu Yuanheng additional recorded inCorrection and Supplement of "Poems of Tang Dynasty" and Complement of "Poems of Tang Dynasty",three proses writed by Wu Yuanheng additional recorded in TangWengleanings,and Quan Tang Wen Supplement to offer a comparatively completed version of collation and annotation,in order to contribute to research of Wu Yuanheng's poetry and prose foracademic circlesin the future. |
