The Formation And Changes Of Chinese Medicine Groups In Yongjia During The Republic Of China (1912-1937)

In the late Qing Dynasty,the introduction of western culture brought about many new changes in Chinese society.New forms of organization have been applied to Various occupations,and medicine affected by this trend too,so the Medical Association was set up.Traditional Chinese medicine groups in Yongjia can be traced back to Liji medical school’s establishment,but it is not the same as traditional associations and lack of organization than a mature society.But it’s combinaition with new teaching methods and the new media,make it become the harbinger of rise of various groups of Chinese medicine practitioners in Yongjia.In the early Republic of China,Wenzhou branch of Shenzhou Medicine society was set up and become the most influential Chinese medicine society in Yongjia.It follows the form of Federation and forms a more perfect organizational system.In 1929," The abolition of the TCM" was announced what caused the Chinese medicine protest,Wenzhou branch of Shenzhou Medicine society called on other Chinese medicine groups in Yongjia joined the protest.The Chinese medicine community has won by joint efforts,but the administration of the government has strengthened the management of the community.In 1929,the national government promulgated the rules of the Medical Association,which required the establishment of associations of Chinese medicine and government supervision.In 1931,the Yongjia Chinese Medicine Association was established,recognized by the government and cooperated with the government.Therefore,the Council has obtained the most important medical appraisal right and the right to examine the traditional Chinese medicine,which helps the association effectively protect the interests of its members.Because of this characteristic,the TCM society is larger than the society and is deeply involved in social affairs.In addition,it promoted the dissemination of "Chinese medicine science" in Yongjia and promoted the professionalization and specialization of doctors.Through this series of changes and developments,this paper shows the process of the community becoming an important social force and its interaction with the government.At the same time,through limited material,this paper will as much as possible to restore the composition of the relationship between groups and private networks.
