The Practice Report Of Whispering Simultaneous Interpretation At The Sleep Medicine Academic Annual Meeting Of The Chinese Medical Doctor Association

This paper is a report on the practice of whispering interpretation.The writer has attended the 10 th annual congress of Chinese association on sleep medicine,working as an intern interpreter working for three days.The annual congress of Chinese association on sleep medicine is the highest level of domestic sleep conference and the conference committee have invited top-ranking specialists and professors at home and abroad.During the whispering interpretation the writer encountered difficulties in interpreting medical terms of sleep disease,medical experimental data as well as long and complex sentences in medical report.The writer classified and analyzed all problems and difficulties in the case study.For these difficulties,the writer puts forward solutions based on the theoretical knowledge learned at school and the experience accumulated in the interpretation process.The solutions include the application of literal translation and free translation,the application of PPT reference and fast memory,syntactic linearity and sense-group division.In the case analysis,the writer summarizes the difficulties and characteristics of words,numbers and sentences in the whisper interpretation.In the last part of the report,the writer summarizes shortcomings and problems which should be avoided in the future practice.Through the case study,the writer hopes to provide some references for other students or interpreters who are interested in medical interpretation and make contribution to the development of niche medical interpretation.The research on the practice of whispering interpretation has significance both in practice and in theory.
