Research On Fundamental Tactile Adjectives In Modern Chinese

In this paper,we made a new definition on Tactile Adjectives in psychology,and determined that tactile adjectives is the word produced by touch sensation rather than the skin.On the basis of the definition of the tactile adjectives,after screening,we confirmed fundamental tactile adjectives as "Hua,Cao,Ruan,Ying,Song,Jin,Qing,Zhong and Nian" these nine words in scientific ways.We conducted a comprehensive analysis of fundamental tactile adjectives' system by the combination of qualitative and quantitative study,the combination of diachronic and synchronic study and so on,and made a discussion of meaning and words' families,and then summed up some characteristics and laws of fundamental tactile adjectives.First of all,we systematically explored the meaning of fundamental tactile adjectives,that is in fact we sorted out and analyzed every deductive relationship and ways between the basic meanings and investigated development path of colorful meaning at the same time.Through research and analysis,we generally sort out development processes of each fundamental tactile adjectives' meaning,and summarized the basic laws of fundamental tactile adjectives' meaning derivative.For example,in the same tactile type,some meaning symmetrically developed,most development paths of tactile meaning are similar and in the process of development,colorful meanings basically performanced two opposing development tendencies and so on.Secondly,we combined word families' formations and semantics to analyse fundamental tactile adjectives,and find out features of word formation and meaning of fundamental tactile adjectives' families.For example,the main forms of word formations are centering structure and combined strcture,word formation ability is not necessarily the strongest,different series of tactile adjectives have different meaning domain size,and reflect different degree of activity etc.In addition,we also use the analytical method to analyze the meaning of general tactile adjectives,and explored the distribution and specific characteristics of tactile meaning in the modern Chinese vocabularies,and found that some basic tactile meanings are rich and delicate.To sum up,through the research of fundamental tactile adjectives' system,we have mastered some situation for the meaning's development and word formation.We hope it will help to research deeply in tactile adjectives.
