Red Classics are produced in a special cultural phenomenon in twentieth Century in China,its main content is to show the historical process of national independence and liberation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China,and reflect the new democratic revolution and the socialist rvolution and life.As a depiction of the special cultural phenomenon of political ideology and aesthetic culture,Red Classics incorporate specific historical,cultural,and aesthetic perceptions in China;moreover,these media record the rich history of the Chinese New Democracy and the socialist revolution in the 20th century.The movie and TV adaptation of Red Classics is a kind of artistic creation,it tries to keep the main story lines and spiritual core unchanged,enrich the characters,fill the plot content,and integrate into the modern aesthetic value and historical reflection to meet the aesthetic needs of new audience.Under the influence of the Red Classics,many authors borrow,rewrite and expand the cultural resources of Red Classics and its film and TV adaptations.They have realized the reshaping and rebuilding of Red Classics by constructing new revolutionary historical imagination with the aid of new revolutionary historical novels and their film and TV adaptations.This research aims to further examine the overall situation regarding the movie and TV adaptations of Red Classics to evaluate the basic scenario as well as the characteristics of inheritance and the development of Red Classics in the process of social change.This paper examines the historical concept,aesthetic tendency,cultural choice and the significance of the times behind the Red Classical film and TV adaptations,and analyzes the continuity and classic reshaping of the Red Classics.This paper will be divided in 3 chapters:The first chapter will focus on the definition of the term Red Classics.By combing the evolution and development of the concept Red Classics,analyzing the connotation of the concept of Red Classics,summarizing the overall characteristics of the film adaptation of Red Classics,this thesis will be carried on.First,this chapter traces the concept of the term Red Classics,combines the concept of Red Classics from generation to the historical process of confirmation.The cultural atmosphere of the society in different historical periods will also be analyzed.Second,this chapter will excavate the conception of Red Classics,summarize from the perspective of broad and narrow.This paper will also analyze the definition of "Red Classics" from the perspective of "red" and "classic".Third,this chapter will summarize the overall characteristics,principles and strategies,aesthetic style of adaptations and reshaping of Red Classics.In the second chapter,the Snowy Forest,Red Rock and the Sword will be used as an example to analyze the film and TV adaptations and reshaping of Red Classics.The first section will study the adaptation of the Snowy Forest specifically.This section will summarize the development of the film and TV adaptations of the Snowy Forest in a diachronic perspective:construction deconstruction and reconstruction.The film combines the heroic legend and the revolutionary theme,abides by the strict political standards and ideology,and reflects the strengthening of ideology and the standardization of political standards.In the drama,the narrative conflict is more concentrated,and the plot develops more smoothly.The heroic image and the image of the enemy are treated separately and humanized.This drama three-dimensional,diversified image of women revolutionaries.The third section will study the imagination and reconstruction of revolutionary history by analyzing the Sword.This part will summarize the overall situation of the development of the red original drama and investigate its inheritance and development of red classical film adaptation through the Sword.First of all,this section will analyze the relationship between red classical film and television adaptations and the red original drama.Second,this section will focus on the analysis of the TV adaptation of the Drawing Sword,from the perspective of the real sense of outstanding war,strengthening the red carnival revolutionary narration,and influences of political ideology and market mechanism.Third,this section will analyze the spirit of the Sword and analyze the connotation and the significance of,sword spirit" combined with social reality.The third chapter will summarize the practical significance of the film and TV adaptation and reshaping of Red Classics.First,this section will focus on reasons of the rise of red classical film adaptations and reshaping,including the value of Red Classics' own advantages and interpretation,demands of revolutionary enthusiasm and lofty spirit in the post-revolutionary era,nostalgia triggered by Red Classics,the compromise between elite culture and popular culture and the collusion between ideology and market mechanism.Second,this part will mainly examine controversial issues in the development of red classical adaptations and reshaping works,such as"no love is not a play",the loss of revolutionary complex,the vulgar tendency,the universal human nature misreading and the characters' changing face,to look for the possibility of transmutation and breakthrough based on the reflection.Third,this part will investigate the practical significance and cultural value of the film and TV adaptation and reshaping of Red Classics,including participating in the completion of the mass culture of the times and the image of the history of revolutionary narrative,activating and strengthening the historical memory of contemporary people,influencing the contemporary cultural construction and providing rich resources for contemporary literary and artistic creation.
