Researching Chinese Animation Character Design For Adaptations Of Chinese Classics

The development of Chinese animation art always contains unique national characteristics and rooted in the influential Chinese traditional culture.Classical literary works have gradually become an essential element in creating animation story content.Throughout the history of animation,China’s first animated feature movie Iron Fan Princess was adapted from The Journey to the West,one of China’s Four Great Classical Novels,and the animated film The Heavenly Palace also adapted from The Journey to the West,created the world-famous Chinese School." In 1999,China’s first profitable feature film was implemented by CCTV.The critical play "The Legend of Nezha" and the animated movie with the highest box office in China,Ne Zha,was also adapted from the Chinese classical literature "Romance of the Gods." It is not difficult to find that literary renovation is an essential theme of animation creation,and China’s rich history has made Chinese classical literature unique and becomes the inspiration for domestic animation creation.At the same time,animation,as a particular art category,has both technical and artistic expression.,which provides a high quality communication carrier for the inheritance and promotion of Chinese classical literature.Chinese classical literature has enriched the core of domestic animation,and animation works have brought back to the classics.Chinese classical literature has shaped full-bodied characters,while vitality has enabled all kinds of characters in literary works to come out from books to screens,realizing the linkage between literature and the integration of spirit and technology.This paper aims to investigate the role image of domestic animation based on Chinese classical literature which is divided into five chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the research background,research purpose and significance,and research methods of role image shaping in domestic animation based on Chinese classical literature.The second chapter discusses the status of Chinese classical literature for domestic cartoons.The third chapter expounds the shaping and adaptation of the character image in the Chinese classic literature context from the aspects of the animation’s art style,plot structure and expression techniques.The fourth chapter according to the results of the previous analysis,summarizes the characteristics of The Times of the role image in domestic animation.The fifth chapter mainly based on the remolding of the role of Chinese classical literature as well as puts forward some feasible measures given the existing problems.Finally,the conclusion points out that we should pay attention improving the entertainment and recognition of the characters and enhancing the diversity of the characters to shape better classic animation characters.
