Critical Discourse Analysis Of Thailand Media About Chinese Tourists

With the steadily increasing trend of Chinese tourists visiting Thailand,this group have attracted much attention in the local society .The event that because Chinese tourists make trouble ,lead to AirAsia’s planes were forced to turn back in 2014, caused Chinese society thailand society and Western media talking about Chinese behaviours.After that, Chinese tourists be more and more attention by the Thailand media.The news report about them are emerge in an endless stream.From critical discourse analysis perspective,To regard the news report as a text,discourse practice and social practice to analysis.Reading and collecting news texts through the news official website of the 8 kinds of Thai newspapers, choose the report about behavior of Chinese tourists during the period of December 2014 to March 2016, total of 141 articles. Words ,transitivity analysis and reported speech had been analysised in this essy ,to reveal the power and ideology of the Thailand media which hidden behind the discourse.About the impact of the report,Chinese tourists should change psychological mechanism,establish national image consciousness.The government should strengthen the punishment,restrain the citizens’behavior.And the media as have the power of public opinion should adhere to objective and impartial reporting,to guide the readers to make a correct and objective judgment,to promote the development of friendship between China and Thailand.
