Study On Xu Shijun

Xu Shijun(1602-1681),who was once named Hui,is an excellent literator meanwhile the famous painter in Zhejiang Renhe(now Zhejiang Province,Hangzhou City)of the Ming and Qing dynasties.He is good at writing poems and Chinese operas.He was tragically failing in the imperial examinations for five times.The changing from Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty causes Xu to give up the examinations.He tries to make a sightseeing tour,drink and compose poetry,calligraphy and paintings and appreciate literature.He has many acquaintances with famous persons,such as Wu Weiye,Shen Tai,Yuan Yuling,Zhuo Renyue,Xue Qiao master.Xu,worshiping Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,uses Buddhist to relief his pain and stress.He is a adherent of Ming Dynasty.His main literary anthologies are "Yan Lou Ji","Gu Jin Ci Tong","Chun Bo Ying","Luo Bing Si",etc.Xu's literature thoughts have many value places,and has an extensive and profound impact on the literary world of Hangzhou.Based on Compiling the Chronicle Biography of Xu,this thesis attempts to have an in-depth research on Xu from four aspects:the life,friends,thoughts and literary creation,in order to understand his status and value in the history of Chinese literature.
