Transformation From Chinese Zither Piece To Guzheng Piece

<Harmony between Man and God> is a masterpiece of Chinese guzheng art recomposed by guzheng performer Qiu Ji based on the homonymic ancient music piece. It was enriched with music materials of Chinese zither, with well preservation of the music style of Chinese zither and combination of rearrangement and innovation of the performing techniques based on the characteristics and tone of guzheng, Mr. Qiu successfully imitated the deep and mysterious tone of Chinese zither, drew our attention to the ancient musical theme of communication between man and god, and led us into the mystical scene of koradji dance during worship ceremonies. This music masterpiece embodies the traditional aesthetic ideology of unity of heaven and man. In this thesis we would start with the artistic conception and presentation of <Harmony between Man and God> by analyzing this music piece and the recomposing methods. We wish that this thesis contributes new perspectives and reference value to the theoretical studies and studies on performing techniques of other recomposed guzheng pieces.
