The academic research on determinative-sentences have long been concentrated on the following aspects:demarcation of the determinative-sentences, the starting time of the copula "shi"(J^)being used as a judging word, the origin of the judging word "shi"(?), the constitute of predicate, and demarcation of "ye"(?)s "fei"(?), and "wei"(?), which exists divergence till now. The paper bases on the study of Mencius, a classic Confucian work during the Warring States Period, deeply researching on the determinative-sentences. At present, there exists little studies on the determinative-sentences in Mencius, thus, the writer places attention on this area.On the basis of further study on Mencius, the paper emphasizes on the survey of argued items and indicates the current situation of determinative-sentences in Mencius. Finally, the paper has come out with the following findings:1.Except for the equivalence, there also exist metaphor, complex, and causal sentences in the middle place of subject and predicate; 2.When Chinese character "ye"(?) is being used in the end of one sentence, it indicates a judging mood; 3. The determinative-sentence with Chinese character "wei"(?) appears at the same time with that of "ye"(?) with a lower frequency, which indicates the using of judging mood; 4. The rarely appearing of Chinese character "shi"(?) being used as a judging word in Mencius indicates that it has appeared in the Warring States Period; 5. Chinese character "fei"(?) has long been used as a negative adverb, but it has a great difference between the other negative adverb. Thus the writer figures that it has the same function of a judging word; 6. There exists in determinative-sentence that a predicative component could be used as a real predicate.
