Based on Case Grammar and Government and Binding Theory, the thesis redefines the connotation of Verb-copying sentence, establishes its deep semantic frame, explores the generative process and summarizes the cause of generation and the syntactic meaning, which to a certain extent , further the study on Verb-copying sentence. The thesis covers:1. According to Case Grammar, Part 1 begins with analysis on deep semantic relation, then establishes the semantic frame of Verb-copying sentence, then, subcategorizes the Verb-copying sentence indirectly by applying arguments that constitute deep-structure and semantic direction as criteria and further elaborates on several sample sentence structures.2. Most sentences are alike on the surface level, they diverse on the deep level.
