Study On Needling Patterns For Liannan Paiyao Clothing

After one thousand years of historical evolution,the unique traditional culture and art has been formed in Paiyao,Liannan.Yao nationality has its own language,but not its own words,so needling patterns have become a unique clothing language to record and inherit national history and culture.On the one hand,needling patterns come from love of the nature and dream for a better life,and on the other hand,they come from the national totem worship.As the crystallization of wisdom and hard work,needling patterns not only embodies the aesthetic idea and value in Paiyao society,but also contains the rich historical and cultural connotation,and record their national history,economy,family,religion and life emotion,with the extremely precious historical research value.As a traditional handicraft,the clothing needling has strong and unique characteristics of national color,with rich themes,sophisticated structures,various colors and beautiful patterns.Needling patterns bear the national culture with strong national characteristics,which can be referred and researched by the modern design in constituent elements and strong historical and cultural connotation.The literature research method,field research method,image-text proving method and design practice method are used in the paper,and the research is divided into three parts.In the first part,dating from the historical background and development origin of the Yao nationality,it analyzes the historical evolution and skill development of needling patterns,and sums up the characteristics and rich cultural connotation of different clothing and needling patterns in different regions.In the secondpart,through an analysis of the process,material,subject,implied meaning and color characteristics,it has summed up the art and aesthetics features of needling patterns,including geometric abstraction,visualization and formalization.In the third part,by analyzing application and significance of national elements in modern clothing design,taking needling patterns for Liannan Paiyao clothing as design elements,it carries on design and application in form reference and meaning extension,and summarizes the exploration and use of a relevant innovation direction,combining with modern people’s aesthetic orientation and popular trend.The national elements are favored and used by design masters in today’s international fashion design.As a source of inspiration for designers,the traditional national clothing elements have an important significance in inheritance and innovation of national culture.Through the study on characteristics of needling patterns for Liannan Paiyao clothing,the paper analyzes national cultural connotation and aesthetic characteristics,highlights the application value of the traditional needling handicraft in the modern women’s clothing design,puts forward the relevant innovation direction exploration,and integrates traditional culture and modern design,which contributes to the national culture inheritance and development to some extent.
