Research On The Pottery And Porcelain Unearthed From Puzhou Cultural Relics

Puzhou City,with profound historical culture,is divided into two towns called East Town and West Town,total 2.5 km long from west to east,and 1.75 kilometers wide from north to south,covers 4.375 square kilometers.During 2013,Shanxi Provincial Archaeology Institute has made archaeological excavations in the southeast area of Puzhou City,where they have acquired a lot of pottery,porcelain,bone artifacts and construction legacies,which has provided a number of important physical data for the research of Puzhou history.At the beginning of this article,the author reviewed Puzhou history,and generalized the achievements related current research,briefly introduced the background of the excavation.By using traditional archaeological methods,the author conducted typol ogy research on the pottery and porcelain unearthed,summarized the typical characters of legacies belonged to different periods,studied the pottery and p orcelain decoration art,and carried on the judgment to porcelain kiln mouth b elongings.On the above basis,through the chronology study to different periods legacies,the author divided the remaining sites and legacies into two periods,Tang Dynasty,Five Dynasties and Song-Jin Periods.To sum up,this article has carried on careful study to the unearthed pottery and porcelain from Puzhou City with the archaeology research methods,and has been of great significance to understand the history and culture of Tang Dynasty,Five Dynasties and Song-Jin Period in Puzhou City,meanwhile,has certain reference value in the future study to Puzhou City.
