| The Zimbabwe Parliament Building Assistance Project,one of the overseas assistance programs of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China,is an example of Chinese enterprises participating in overseas projects.The tender documents for Zimbabwe Parliament Building Assistance Project are made by China Aviation Planning and Design Institute(Group)Co.,Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as CAPDI),aimed to obtain this project.The author is lucky enough to have the opportunity to undertake the translation task of Chapter XI of the tender documents.This report is based on the translation task.This translation report consists of five chapters.In the first chapter,the author introduces the project background and the translation task.In the second chapter,a review on the process of translation is given,including preparation,translation,proofreading and self-reflection.In the third chapter,the author conducts a comparative study between Chinese and English tender documents from the aspects of similarities and differences.In the fourth chapter,the author first gives an introduction to Nida’s functional equivalence theory,and then under the guidance of the theory,he analyzes the problems encountered in the translation and the translation methods adopted in solving these problems.The fifth chapter is the conclusion part of this translation report. |
