The emergence and development of video games has greatly enriched people's entertainment.Especially in recent years,the popularity of touch-screen mobile devices and virtual reality technology advances,let the game industry showing a thriving trend.At present,many video game developers adding more violent elements in order to increase the attractiveness of the game.The most of the game is violent game.The study on violence and aggression in China and abroad is mainly baesd on the primary and middle school students,while the college students is the main crowd,and there are still some controversies related to the research: 1)Whether violence video game will increase the Attack behavior;2)whether the degree of violence or difficulty of the game will have an impact on individual attacks.And some researchers have suggested that violent video games may affect self-control by influencing the self-control,but this conjecture has not been confirmed.Therefore,this study attempts to investigate the impact of violent video games on the attack behavior of college students and the role of self-control in them.In the first study,80 college students in Hangzhou were selected.The scales were used to measure the degree of violent game exposure.Self-control and aggression were measured by sptial Stroop task and the hot sauce task.The regression analysis was used to investigate the Long-term Effects of Video Games on Self-control and Attack Behavior of College Students.In the second study,160 undergraduates in Hangzhou who did not have experience in the game were selected,and the subjects were randomly assigned to "non-violent difficult group","non-violent simple group","violent difficult group","violent simple group".Through the analysis of covariance,it is investigated whether the degree of violence or difficulty of the game will have a short-term effect on individual self-control and aggression.The results of this study are as follows:(1)There is no significant difference in self-control and aggressive behavior between college boys and girls,and self-control can predict the behavior of college students.(2)Long-term effects,the degree of exposure of violent video games can predict college students' self-control and aggressive behavior,and self-control play the intermediary role.(3)short-term effects,the violence and the difficulty of video games can predict the self-control of college students,but only the difficulty of video games can predict the aggressive behavior of college students,and the self-control play the Intermediary role.
