| Topic is one of the most popular topics in the studies of Chinese grammar. The research findings of topic have made considerable progress since entering the field of Linguistics. There are two main forms of topic in Chinese language:one is the topic without topic marker, which means that there is no topic marker in the sentence; the other is the topic with topic marker, which is a form to mark the topic. In standard topic, there is a clear distinction between the topic and the subject, and the topic is rarely analyzed as the subject, which avoiding the tangled problem in the research of topic and subject."Zhiyu" is one kind of most commonly used words in Chinese, and most of the scholars believe that it can mark the topic. According to the previous studies and the data of the corpus, this paper founds that "Zhiyu" is often located in the beginning of the sentence to mark the tonic as the preposition. This paper believes that the study of the subject structure is valuable. According to the previous studies, this paper tries to study the topic sentence beginning with "Zhiyu" in aspects of syntactic, semantic and pragmatics.The main architecture of this paper is made up of five parts.The first part analyses the grammatical process of "Zhiyu". At first "Zhiyu" was not a fixed vocabulary, then gradually became a verb and then became the topic marker. This paper believes that the "Zhiyu" plays the role of preposition in part of speech in modern Chinese.The second part mainly narrates the category and structure of the "Zhiyu" topic sentence from a syntax point of view. There are three categories in the "Zhiyu" topic sentence:"Zhiyu" T, (S) C; "Zhiyu" TSC and "Zhiyu" TC. The "Zhiyu" topic sentence has two types of topic:the noun and the predicate. This section also examines the pause, tone words and the use-cases with other topic marks of "Zhiyu" topic sentence.The third part mainly expounds the semantic relations and semantic features of the "Zhiyu" topic sentence in semantic perspective. Firstly, this paper studies two types of semantic relations of this topic:the register type topic and the argument type topic. Secondly, this paper analyzes three semantic orientations of the "Zhiyu" topic sentence:state-and-stated, dynamic-relationship, and limited-relationship. Finally, this paper investigates the semantic features in a single sentence and among more than one sentence.The fourth part mainly studies the usage and function of the topic sentence in the pragmatic point of view. The usage of "Zhiyu" topic sentence can be classified into four categories:the first one changes the topic of conversation, the second one relates the sentences, and the third one prompts the context, and finally the last one joints the sentences. Finally, the paper analyzes three kinds of functions:discourse, evaluation and representation.Last but not least, the last part narrates the errors of "Zhiyu" structure, and then gives some suggestions on TCSL of this structure. Firstly, the author analyses the type and the reason of the Errors. Then give Suggestions of TCSL from the aspect of Students, Textbook, Teachers and the teaching strategies. At the end of the paper, the author designed a teaching plan for the "Zhiyu" topic sentence. |
