| Film art is one of the most important component in film art, production department in film art and core content in screen script. Film art is using space concept in film to compose character's model and relationship, namely the art art built for film's model design on both space and time. William Chang is the originator of Film art in Hong Kong. He has been working in the film industry more than 30 years and working with tremendous famous directors. This paper analyses his representative film art work and discusses its style. This paper discusses file art art in movie<Love Massacre > on Hong Kong New Wave first, and then conducts analysis on <Days of Being Wild >, <As Tears Go By >,<New Dragon Gate Inn >,<Chungking Express>,<In the Mood for Love >, <The Grandmaster > and other awarded films, researches and explores the shape and change of his film art style, simultaneously compares his movies which cooperated with Chinese 5th generation director Chen Kaige's <Temptress Moon>, Zhang Yimou's <The Flowers Of War> and 6th generation director Jiang Wen's <Let the Bullets Fly > and <Gone with the Bullets >. From film art and director style to conduct research, further summarize his achievement and distinctive character in film art and influence on Hong Kong, Taiwan and China mainland's film production.
