A Research Of Rhetorical Effects In Network Language From The Perspective Of Memetics

Network language has been increasingly popular in the public in recent years. And the new language form is spreading like virus and permeating in the everyday life of people. In the process, linguistic memes of network language gradually shows up while it further reflects on rhetoric memes.Different types in network language show different phenomena in rhetoric memes. In three types of network language, as computer terms, network cultural language and network communication language, the phenomena of memes of network communication language are the most abundant. Still in different phenomena of memes, the rhetorical effects of network language are the same or different.Combining with the relevant research results at home and abroad, I choose the special social dialect which called “network language” to be the research object,classify the rhetoric phenomena of network language which shows five kinds of phenomena as a whole : graphics and symbols meme phenomena, voice meme phenomena, individual character meme phenomena, word meme phenomena and sentence structure meme phenomena. And I do the further in-depth study of the rhetoric effects in network language from the perspective of the memetics, then I find “convergence effect” and “select simple form effect” in computer terms; “cultural genetic effect” and “cultural variation effect” in the network cultural language; “ironic effect”, “humorous effect”, “simplify effect”, “analogy effect”, “fashion effect” and “defamiliarization effect” in the network communication language. Finally, the rhetorical effect of network language is studied in terms of personality and common.
